I was at Masa last week for happy hour, and since we are in the middle of a tile-remodeling-project, I was eye-ing all of their unique tilework throughout the space.  In the ladies’ room, I found an inscrption on the relief tiles. . .

IXIA Tiles of Tacoma.  Go visit the website to read up on the process of creating and designing the tiles!

and the work begins.

…A few photos that I took during our frantic house search. You know how it is, look at ten houses in a day and take sporadic photos of things in each house. I had to dig through hundreds of other photos to find these…

the living room and fire place. your first view upon entering the front door.

windows, nasty window treatments and wonderful baseboard heating units. [ha.]

view into kitchen and hallway.

gotta love me some 1980s kitchen wallpaper.

yum. so retro. orange blinds and everything. the kitchen cabinets are metal. yes, you did read that right. i said METAL.

completley useless space. it will be a miracle if we can find a way to make this work.

i actually really love the deep sink. it’s the pink tiles that i’m not so excited about. [whoever lived here previously must have been totally lit when they decorated. everything was a different shade of pink.]

i’m not even going to try to redeem this photo. the orange cast gives you a great idea of what the lighting is really like [the bathroom is our very next project.]

this is our bedroom. which is literally a bed – room since we have a california king bed!

the guest room. it’s actually a little bigger than it looks here, i promise. :)

heading upstairs to the attic (spooky.). this area will eventually become a master bedroom suite with bathroom and a freaking huge closet [because we will "deserve" one].

our future bedroom. [pre-renovation!]

this is our basement. which is where we believed the “magic happened.”
