live what you love

Sometimes it’s the dreams we never knew we had.
Stumbled upon this today, and it just seemed like a sweet and timely reminder for me. I cannot express how grateful I am to my friends who have taken the time to remind me of this over the past few days.

a must-see.
Fun music video passed along to me from a fantastic friend.
pieces of my weekend.

What a lovely weekend. It started off with a seafood dinner with an old friend from highschool-days. Unfortunately, the restaurant was on the water in Seattle and not exactly tasty. I realized as I tried to stomach the salmon bisque that I could (and have) made far better bisque with CANNED SALMON. [Fail.] After dinner, however, we walked up the hill to an amazing wine bar, where I had perhaps the best wine I can remember tasting. It was a wine from Portugal; Kolheita de Ideias “Esboco.”

Which, evidently, you can buy for $15 online, or $52 at the wine bar. Nice find, Google. [This is why I am friends with Google.]
Saturday was fabulous. Shopping? Yes. More wine? Yes. Rock Band? Yes. Labyrinth? Yes.
Pictures will be coming from Sunday, in which we traveled several hours to see fields of tulips.
pieces on a friday.
This post makes me want to burst into tears. Life is beautiful, yet so very tragic.
1001 Rules for My Unborn Son…soon to be in book format?!
Where will you be at 3pm this Saturday (April 25)? Take a photo and submit for publication at MonsterChildren.
I adore this necklace and cannot get it out of my mind. Maybe next paycheck. It reminds me very much of my rocker chick necklace my dad bought me for Christmas last year. I wear it all. the. time. [Possibly post-worthy.]
I watched Cassandra’s Dream this week and actually really enjoyed the movie. It was the first Woody Allen movie that did not make me want to violently throw things at the TV. I can’t say that it was fantastic, but it certainly exceeded my expectations…and it was good to see Ewan McGregor in a film; even if just for old-time’s sake. I appreciate the fact that the film was very introspective and explored the idea of “crossing a line” and the finality of such a decision.
Listening: Rev Theory [Light It Up album], Chester French ["She Loves Everybody"], Fort Minor, Modest Mouse, The Kooks, Avenged Sevenfold, and vast (unnecessary) amounts of Metallica Guitar Hero.

simply fantastic.
spring may finally be here.

When your hands go out,
love, toward mine,
what do they bring me flying?
Why did they stop at my mouth, suddenly,
why do I recognize them
as if then, before,
I had touched them,
as if before they existed
they had passed over
my forehead, my waist?
Their softness came
flying over time,
over the sea, over the smoke,
over the spring,
and when you placed
your hands on my chest,
I recognized these golden
dove wings,
I recognized that clay
and the color of wheat.

All the years of my life
I walked around looking for them.
I went up the stairs,
I crossed the roads,
trains carried me,
waters brought me,
and in the skin of grapes
I thought I touched you.
The wood suddenly brought me your touch,
the almond announced to me
your secret softness,
until your hands
closed on my chest
and there like two wings
they ended their journey.
